How Develon’s head automation expert sees the development of smart equipment technology

07 November 2023

Dongmok Kim, Head Researcher at Develon’s Institute of Technology Division and Team Leader for its Smart Equipment Technology department, addressed leading construction contractors and equipment dealers at the equipment brand’s first global customer day since its founding eight months ago.

Introduced by Jongwoo Choi, Develon’s Team leader of Product Marketing, Kim outlined the six stages of automation and revealed how changes both in the construction industry, and society in general, have and are fuelling both the direction of smart technology and Develon’s own technology transformation.

His presentation was one of several that took place at the event at the company’s Proving Ground facility in Boryeong, which is located south of Seoul in South Korea.

According to parent company HD Hyundai Infracore, the “event attracted a truly global audience, with a strong presence from the USA, Europe, South America and the Middle East”.

Taking place over three days, it combined elements of Develon and Korean culture throughout, beginning with the Develon Day at the Boryeong site and ending with cultural activities and tours.
