Buildots, utilising artificial intelligence and computer vision, will automatically analyse data collected from wearable 360-degree cameras placed on Sir Robert McAlpine construction sites across the UK.

The Buildots technology generates detailed project progress reports that reflect in real-time the status of a project.

Sir Robert McAlpine said it has already rolled out the technology across several sites, including the ongoing BEACH Building project at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

The complex project, managed by Integrated Health Projects (IHP) – a joint venture between Sir Robert McAlpine and Vinci Construction UK – will provide purpose-built facilities such as an enhanced emergency department and a new critical care unit.

Widening AI deployment

Sir Robert McAlpine said it now plans to deploy the Buildots technology across additional sites, advancing its commitment to using a data-driven approach to projects.

Nick Leach, director of digital construction at Sir Robert McAlpine, said, “A partnership with an innovative platform such as Buildots aligns perfectly with our growing emphasis on delivering data-driven, efficient, and sustainable projects.

“This type of technology is a great tool, which allows us to deliver value to our clients and the communities that we work within.”

Roy Danon, CEO and co-founder of Buildots, said, “Sir Robert McAlpine’s decision to add Buildots to its list of preferred suppliers is a really meaningful testament to the benefits we have been able to provide them on multiple sites.

“We look forward to bringing that transparency and efficiency to many future projects with Sir Robert McAlpine and other leading construction firms in the UK and internationally.”
