Construction technology company Trimble has introduced a new lightweight data controller for land and civil construction surveyors.

The TSC5 Data Controller is equipped with a 127mm anti-glare screen and a back-lit keypad. The company said the surveying instrument allows users to collect field data in rugged environments and allows them to carry out tasks “efficiently and accurately”.

The handheld device uses the Android 10 operating system and is fully integrated with Trimble’s land and construction surveying instruments and software packages.

These include Trimble Access 2021 Field software and Trimble Siteworks software. It can also be used with Trimble’s EMPOWER Module system.

Ron Bisio, senior vice president of Trimble Geospatial, said, “Surveyors expect to encounter challenging environments and must rely on their equipment to perform as expected in harsh conditions.

“The TSC5 controller is a high-value, reliable solution that land surveyors can leverage for field data collection tasks performed all day, every day.”

According to the manufacturer, the instrument is resistant to shock, dust and water, and also includes a battery that offers a a full day’s use on one charge.
