Soundplan noise-mapping software updated with new features

By Catrin Jones24 April 2023

SoundPLAN, a noise-mapping software specialist, has recently launched version 9.0 of its software, SoundPLANnoise. The platform enables users to assess noise levels and dispersion for construction sites.

The software generates colour-coded maps to illustrate where the noise comes from and how it spreads. SounPLAN says that this feature is particularly useful for non-building professionals involved in the project.

The software also allows planners to show the current noise levels and the projected ones by testing scenarios and assessing the best options to reduce noise and protect workers and surrounding communities from its harmful effects.

SoundPLANnoise is modular in structure, which is said to make it easier for users to tailor the program according to their individual requirements. The company adds that the software is intuitive and user-friendly, enabling users to work efficiently from modelling to the final graphical and tabular presentation of the results.

The new features of version 9.0 include an updated user interface for the Geo-Database, new standards to capture wind turbine noise, and traffic noise and national adaptations of standard noise assessment methods in Europe for strategic noise mapping.
