Sennebogen increases production capabilities

German manufacturer Sennebogen has opened a new steel components plant in Hungary, expanding its capabilities to meet the growing demand for waste management and recycling sector equipment.

The new site, which is known as Termelés-Logistic-Centrum (TLC) and operates as a separate legal entity, specialises in the production of medium and heavy welded steel structures for machinery.
Walter Sennebogen, the company’s controlling shareholder, said: “The engineering company Sennebogen has grown significantly in recent years.
“Termelés-Logistic-Centrum GmbH is our most important supplier of steel assemblies. With this investment in Hungary, we are not only expanding our capacities to meet the growing demand, but also building reserves for the future.”
TLC can produce a maximum of 20,000 t of steel structures a year, with components measuring up to 30 m in length and weighing 25 t, for equipment such as material handlers, cranes and telescopic loaders.
It will manufacturer key products including telescopic cranes, lower trolley component of mobile cranes, footstands, upper carriage chassis, cabin lifting units, sliding plates, lifting machines for material transfer cranes.
The site, which is located to the southwest of Budapest in Litér, consists of 29,000 sq m of hall space and features the latest machine tools and modern machining centres for mechanical processing and for flame and laser cutting.

According to Sennebogen, sustainability was a key focus in the plant’s design. It is “equipped with a photovoltaic system with an output of 2.4 megawatts, so that it will be energy self-sufficient with the electrical power generated from the PV system”, the company said.
“The office building is also heated with energy-efficient underfloor heating and the production hall with low-temperature heating via concrete core activation.”
The plant was officially inaugurated by Walter Sennebogen and Michael Seiferling, the Managing Director of the site, as well as the Hungarian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, and MP Károly Kontrát.
Michael Seiferling, TLC’s Managing Director, said: “With the new plant, we are supplementing our previous steel component production in Balatonfüred. The locations are also logistically connected via plant traffic.”
