The company behind the Neom special economic zone in Saudi Arabia has revealed plans to build a new art and entertainment venue with a cavernous 64-m-high entrance.

The new destination, set to be build in a mountain located along the Gulf of Aqaba coastline, is called Utamo.

It will host music events, exhibitions and art events.

The venue will also feature VIP lounges and restaurants, as well as “advanced audio-visual systems”.

Neom promised “cutting-edge techniques” to be used in the design and construction of Utamo to minimise the impact on the environment.

However, it has not given any details about who is responsible for designing or building the project, nor when work is due to start, how long it will take, or what it will cost.
